Pool Rules

Standard English Pub Pool Rules

Players are assigned either spots (1-7) or stripes (9-15) after the break
Must pocket all your group balls before attempting the 8-ball
Call your pocket when shooting the 8-ball
Potting the white ball results in ball-in-hand for your opponent
Potting the 8-ball out of turn or in the wrong pocket loses the game
Jump shots and masse shots are allowed
No need to call obvious shots, only the 8-ball pocket

ELO Rating System

Players start with ratings based on the current average (around 1260). Ratings change based on game results, with larger changes for new players and closer games having smaller rating swings.
